Today and tomorrow is the annual mothers day (swedish mothers day РMorsdag) market at Djurbyg̴rd where we live. The coffee and cake buffet is the main atraction. There is also a flea market, as well as plants and our homemade lactic fermented foods for sale.
In the old partially overgrown garden of a one-time convent there was a flea market.
Lots of stuff, lots of people and plenty of sunshine.
I found the best cup of coffee (most like an ordinary swedish fika-style brewed cup of coffee) in Holland so far.
We are frantically preparing for the third annual music party in the garden TODAY at 1500.
Last minute weeding
Roofs going up
Decorations being prepared
The event statue will be raised
Flea market filled
Last night I prepaired three large batches of chili sans carne. There will be lots more food to sell also.
Food tent is almost ready
David Erikssons fantastic sound system is being put into place.
The outhouse over in the corner
Before the storm
Toji Temple in Kyoto has a flea market the 21st of every month.
We managed to get it in the last full day of our trip.
Here, piles of wakame seaweed and fish
Antiques, garden art and stuff
It took us all day just to go around and look at everything. In the end we bought quite little – we had gotten almost everything we wanted already, and the prices were the same or higher than we had found in shops earlier.
Our bags are already full anyway.
