Done with the solstice partying, I’m easing back into gardening with some basil transplanting and other light chores. I’m always a bit late with the basil planting, but I’m sure there will be plenty of the fresh and the dried herb.

Notice the pink knife. I bought it at the lumber store. The girl clerking was very effective in getting the dudes and duds like me to feel they had to have one. After an initial no, I later changed my mind. When I went back, all the pink ones were sold out, so I had to wait until the next shipment came in.

This is the latest model of the swedish Mora Kniv. It’s very traditional and used by just about every body from farmers to craftsmen and carpenters and very sharp. All my old knives are quickly dulled by weeding and other misuse.

More pink!
