The big melt is on.

We still have cold nights, but the days are warm and longer. It’s melting fast and there’s lots of standing water that doesn’t drain well in the frozen ground.

I do what I can to make some temporary shallow ditches.

And get more water over to the ‘lake’ for quicker run off into the drainage system.

It’s been drizzling, speeding up the spring melt.

Timo Garden is most completely clear of snow now, but here at Håga Valley and further inland there is still lots of it left.

And a rotting long-stump stands guard.

This morning I did sow a pot of reddish salad onions and got a seed order off to Runåbergs seeds – a bit later than usual, but winter is hanging on real strong still.
